Ōpōtiki locals and visitors alike look forward to a sizzling summer of awesome events in Ōpōtiki each year. Ōpōtiki’s i-SITE manager, Joseph Hayes said that after a few summers of limited activities due to Covid, the events this summer are set to thrill.
“The events team have been working so hard to bring a wide range of events back to Ōpōtiki this holiday period. There are a few we can absolutely confirm: on 16 December we have Friday night Christmas markets from 5pm-8pm and on Sunday 18 December a Christmas movie night.
“There is a small catch before we can finalise our usual summer calendar – we need to wait to hear the outcomes of our funding applications so we know how big and bold some of our activities can be. But you can be sure it will include a bunch of everyone’s favourites like the O-mazing race, beach digs, and the world-famous Lantern Festival.
“So just keep an eye out for the posters and ads all about the summer events, we will share it as soon as we can!” Mr Hayes said.
