Council held a ceremony to open the Ōpōtiki harbour seawalls Friday last week and we worked hard to get all the final bits of mahi done on time. However, we were slightly delayed with some last concreting and safety works which meant we had to close the gates to the walls after the ceremony ended.
This week, the Snell Road Extension out to the eastern seawall will stay closed so we can finish the last pieces of road safety works, to make the road safe for motorists and pathway users.
All things permitting, the road will re-open this weekend .
