PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF APPLICATION FOR RESOURCE CONSENT - UNDER SECTION 95A OF THE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ACT 1991

Ōpōtiki District Council has received an application from Te Pou Oranga O Whakatōhea for the following resource consent referenced: RC2024-31.

Project Description: Establish and operate a Residential Care Facility, including ancillary office and support facilities. The facility will provide accommodation for up to eight residents while they receive support prior to, or after, attending an off-site drug rehabilitation program.

The application includes an Assessment of Environmental Effects, plans and other supporting documents. The application documents are available below.

Any person may make a submission on the application, but a person who is a trade competitor of the applicant may do so only if that person is directly affected by an effect of the activity to which the application relates that—

(a) adversely affects the environment; and (b) does not relate to trade competition or the effects of trade competition.

You may make a submission by sending a written or electronic submission to Ōpōtiki District Council at PO Box 44 Ōpōtiki 3162 or by email to info@odc.govt.nz. The submission must be on form 13. Copies of this form are also available from Ōpōtiki District Council’s offices.

The submission must be dated, signed by you (or a person authorised to sign for you), and include the following information:

Your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address (if applicable).
Details of the application in respect of which you are making the submission, including its type, the activity and location.
Your submission, with reasons.
Whether you support or oppose the application (or are neutral) or whether you wish to have the proposal amended.
The decision you wish the consent authority to make.
Whether you wish to be heard in support of your submission.

You must send your submission to the Ōpōtiki District Council in time for it to be received no later than 5.00pm on 22 August 2024. If it is received after this date, it may not be considered.

You must serve a copy of your submission on the applicant, whose address for service is tim@fergussonplanning.co.nz or 41 Goulstone Road, Whakatane 3120, as soon as reasonably practicable after serving your submission on Ōpōtiki District Council.
