If you see a pothole or slip or any other damage on our roads, please report it so that it can be repaired and dealt with promptly.
We want to make sure your request goes to the right place so just a reminder that State Highways (SH2 and 35 in our district) are the responsibility of Waka Kotahi, the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA). All other roads are Council’s responsibility (local roads, residential streets, berms, footpaths and the town centre)*.
If the issue is on SH2 or SH35, please call 0800 4 HIGHWAYS (0800 44 44 49) to report the issue to Waka Kotahi.
For all other roading issues, you can contact us in many ways:
*There are a few private roads and things like driveways, farm roads and right of ways that are a bit different and they are the responsibility of the owners.
