Council's year on a page
A review of the Opotiki District Council's 2017/18 year is now available with its Annual Report and a summary available to ensure residents have a chance to understand Council performance in the past year.
Ōpōtiki Mayor, John Forbes, is pleased with this year's outcomes, including major projects and the increase in Long Term Plan submissions.
"This year we have had a range of major projects including completing the harbour business case, ten-year planning, infrastructure planning and starting the rehabilitation of the sewers in the Ōpōtiki township. Over the last year we have completed our 2018-2028 Long Term Plan amongst a range of challenges, including whether and when to plan for growth."
"We appreciated the 100% increase in submissions over the previous LTP and are pleased that many in our community embraced the online processes. We know that not everyone is comfortable online, so we are committed to providing many different ways for you to provide feedback."
"I encourage everyone to take a moment and check how the Council is performing and get a sense of where Council money is spent. The more people who have a strong understanding of Council work and spending, the better the feedback we get from the community on future direction," Mr Forbes said.
The Council's Annual and Summary Annual Reports can be found on our Annual Report page on this website, at our office at 108 St John Street, Opotiki or the Opotiki District Library.
