Proposals sought for project management services
Ōpōtiki District Council is undertaking a major building project - the Te Tahuhu o Te Rangi - Technology and Research Centre. This facility, located in the heart of the Ōpōtiki township, is intended to deliver an economic and business hub, arts and cultural hub and community hub including reinvention of the existing library service.
We are seeking proposals from suitably qualified individuals or companies for Project Management services to undertake this project.
To date this project has been managed internally by existing staff. As we move toward tendering for construction, we are now looking for a project manager to work with the architect and quantity surveyor to prepare the tender documents and assist the Council Tender Sub-Committee with the evaluation of tenders.
The project manager will be responsible for preparing a Project Management Plan and monitoring and reporting on progress in accordance with that Plan over the course of construction. The project manager will oversee all construction works on site and liaise with partners and key stakeholders throughout the project. The project manager will report to a Project Steering Group comprising the Chief Executive and another nominated member of staff. Further requirements of the role are set out in the Request for Proposal document available to download below.
