All voting papers for the 2019 local elections were mailed to eligible voters from 20-25 September and should have been delivered now.
We encourage those who have received their voting paper to get it back in the post by Saturday 5 October. NZ Post advises the standard post target is three working days, and longer in rural areas. Ensure your vote makes it and your voice counts by sending your voting paper back early. Alternatively you can drop it in the ballot box in our office at 108 St John Street, Opotiki. Voting closes at noon on 12 October.
If you haven't received your voting pack it may mean you are either not enrolled or not enrolled correctly. You can enrol, check or update your enrolment details at vote.nz or call 0800 36 76 56. Once your enrolment is up to date you will need to come in to our office to cast a special vote. You can do that up until close of voting at noon on 12 October.
The things council does affects your daily life and the future of your community. If it matters to you, VOTE.
