Calling Ōpōtiki creatives!
Ōpōtiki District Councillor and Assessment Committee Chair, Debi Hocart encouraged Ōpōtiki artists to make 2022 the year to bring their creative vision to life, with the help of Creative Communities funding.
The Creative New Zealand Creative Communities Scheme for the Ōpōtiki District, provides funding to help keep local arts alive and thriving, expanding the range and diversity of arts available within the district.
Debi Hocart says the Scheme, which is administered by Ōpōtiki District Council, allocates around $20,000 of arts funding in the District each year.
“This funding is available each year and it is great to hear from a wide range of artists who apply and to be able to help with funding to bring their art to life. It doesn’t matter if your art is art, dance, drama, literature, music, seminars, workshops and community art or cultural events. They all may be eligible for funding,” Ms Hocart said.
There are a number of important terms and conditions and Ms Hocart reminded applicants to make sure their project meet the criteria so they won’t be disappointed. In particular, the project must be delivered in the next 12 months, and it can’t already be underway or completed. All the details are online.
Funding applications are considered by an assessment committee made up of dedicated representatives from the Ōpōtiki district.
Applications close on Friday 6 May for projects starting after 19 May 2022.
Application forms, criteria and guides are available on our Creative Communities Scheme page.
