About the role:
Are you seeking a summer work opportunity? Ōpōtiki District Council is seeking a Compliance Officer to join our Strategy and Development Group. You will be a part of a team who is passionate about delivering on safety and compliance.
Responsibilities:
This is a fixed term 6 month role that will require flexibility to work weekends and some public holidays. Across the period you will be responsible for monitoring freedom camping, enforcement of freedom camping bylaws, handling complaints or queries and establishing positive relationships with visitors and residents of the district.
You will be responsible for:
- Undertake physical monitoring of sites and engagement with community
- Maintaining accurate record within Council database
- Responding to complaints and carrying out investigations in a professional manner
- Enforcement of relevant Acts, Policies and Procedures
- Supporting the overall compliance team with general enforcement matters
- Maintaining positive relationships with the community
Ideally you will have:
- Experience in a compliance/enforcement role is an advantage
- An ability communicate calmly and professionally
- Understanding and commitment to customer service
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Some computing and technology skills
- A current Driver’s License
