About the role
Are you looking to take a step up in your career? We are looking for an experienced Planner to join our Strategy and Development group. Come join us on the beachside of the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
The Senior Consent Planner will have experience working in the RMA space and take the lead in processing and monitoring resource consents. This role will also give you the opportunity to mentor current and future team members through your experience. In this role, you will enjoy contributing to
Key responsibilities:
- Processing Resource Consent Applications
- Mentoring planning staff
- Providing consistent advice on matters relating to RMA 1991
- Policy Development Support – Regulatory, Environmental, Non-financial LTP, Engineering policies
- Enforcement of Non-Complying Activities
- Responding to compliance complaints
- Monitoring and Enforcement of Consent Conditions
About you
You will be able to accurately interpret, understand and apply relevant legislation and bylaws. The individual interested in this role will enjoy working with a diverse range of people and have a desire to do well for the local community. You are self sufficient but committed to supporting the team’s overall goals.
You will have:
- Relevant qualifications recognised by New Zealand Planning Institute
- A membership or working toward a membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute
- A minimum of 5 years working under the Resource Management Act 1991
- Experience working in local government
- A high level of computer literacy and a current driver’s licence.
