Kerbside recycling and refuse collection changes

Council has moved to a more efficient four crate system for recycling, and a 45L wheeled bin for residual refuse. The service has switched to two recyclables collected per week. Paper and tin one week and glass and plastic the next. Why it's important you care for your new crates and bin

We've distributed the bins and crates to properties on the urban collection service. If you have not received your bin and crates please contact council.

Once you have signed for the new crates and bin, you are responsible for them.

You'll need to make sure your recycling and refuse is put out correctly using the right crates (according to what is being collected that week) and the bin, otherwise it won't be collected.

We're sure you don't want to have to pay for replacement crates and bins, so we advise you to look after them. You may want to write or paint your address on them - you could use some form of permanent marker or white paint etc.

The crates and bin are allocated to the property, so if you move to a new house you need to leave them behind.

Do not remove the number on your crates and bin

These are unique identifiers based on the address of the property the crates and bin have been allocated to. Failure to display the unique bin number may result in your waste not being collected. Please take a record in case it gets worn off.
