2023 - Eastern Bay of Plenty Local Alcohol Policy Review

The provisional joint Eastern Bay of Plenty Local Alcohol Policy has been adopted with no changes. From 9 August there is a 30-day appeal period before the final LAP can be adopted.

Local Alcohol Policies are required to be reviewed very six years. Our policy was last reviewed and adopted in 2016. Our current LAP is available here.

Feedback on the draft policy was open from 8am Monday 27th March to 5pm Friday 28th April. feedback was provided to a Hearings Panel representing the three councils.

All three councils adopted the provisional Local Alcohol Policy and a 30-day appeal period started on 9 August 2023. Appeals can only be lodged by submitters on the original policy. Submitters will receive information on how and where to lodge appeals within the appeal period.

Because this was a combined Eastern Bay policy, feedback was collated from all three districts through Kōrero Mai, hosted by Whakatāne District Council.
