This Reserve Management Plan deals with all council owned reserves in the Ōpōtiki District consistently rather than treating them all separately. The plans are administered under the Reserves Act 1977 and aim to ensure that reserves provide the opportunity for use and enjoyment as well being appropriately maintained, protected and preserved.
Reserves inlcude sportsfields, parks, Council managed natural areas and some council land, such as the area where our administration building is. Objectives and policies are divided into two sections, one general for all reserves, and an individual section for those reserves that have special policy issues.
